During their six-year partnership with the Toronto Raptors, Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan established one of the finest bromances in the NBA.

From epic photobombs and cameos to humorous interviews, Toronto's fun-loving tandem had plenty of chemistry both on and off the floor. However, that chemistry did not result in playoff glory.

The Raptors were routinely dominated by LeBron James-led teams in the NBA playoffs, and they would fail to make the Conference Finals in 2018 despite earning the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference.

In a stunning move, Raptors general manager Masai Ujiri sent DeRozan to the San Antonio Spurs in exchange for Kawhi Leonard, giving up a franchise icon and acquiring a polarizing superstar.

Obviously, the decision paid off in spades. Leonard led the Raptors to their first NBA title after one of the greatest postseason runs in league history, and Lowry perfect in his role as a complementary star.

Although DeRozan said that he felt like Toronto's “sacrificial lamb,” he and Lowry have retained their close relationship. The two were apparently hanging out prior to the start of preseason camp, with DeRozan posting an Instagram story of the pair kicking it on Sunday afternoon.

Both players face somewhat uncertain futures.

Lowry is in the final year of his contract with the Raptors, who might be tempted to trade him should they fail to get off to a fast start.

DeRozan was also involved in plenty of trade rumors this summer. Although the Spurs elected to keep their star shooting guard and have even considered offering him an extension, the two sides have yet to reach an agreement.
