Toronto Raptors point guard Kyle Lowry was yanked out of Tuesday night's matchup against the Milwaukee Bucks with an apparent ankle injury. It was later revealed that the 34-year-old veteran will be unable to return and has been ruled out for the remainder of the contest.

This report comes via Keith Smith of Yahoo Sports:

The good news for the Raptors here is that the injury does not appear to be serious. It is being tagged as a “sore left ankle” which likely means that there was no structural damage. Then again, it is very much possible that Lowry gets some tests done on his ankle after the game, which could reveal a different diagnosis. As it is, the six-time All-Star is not completely out of the woods just yet.

Lowry, who himself has been in the center of trade rumors of late, is as tough as they come, and he actually tried to play through the injury. The 6-foot point guard sprained his ankle late in the first half but was able to take the court for the Raptors to start the second half. He did have a noticeable limp, though, which ultimately led to Lowry having to prematurely exit the game.

Toronto is off on Wednesday, but they return to action on Thursday in a rematch against the mighty Bucks. Knowing Lowry, he's probably going to be available for that marquee matchup. With the Raptors looking to get some momentum going after a slow start to the season, only a significant injury will keep him out of that one.
