Toronto Raptors star point guard Kyle Lowry is not just known for dishing out assists on the basketball court. The burly veteran guard has always enjoyed assisting people and giving back to the community. ESPN's Marc J. Spears tweeted out how Lowry plans to spend the Canadian Thanksgiving Day:

Raptors point guard Kyle Lowry and his wife Ayahna will distribute 325 meals to families in need ahead of Canadian Thanksgiving this Thursday evening. The delivery will impact over 1000 people in Toronto and take place at two locations one after another.

This is not the first time the point guard has donated for the community. Along with his wife, Ayahna Cornish-Lowry, the point guard founded the Lowry Love Foundation in 2013. Since then, the organization has been giving out support for underprivileged families in the cities of Philadelphia and Toronto. Ayahna's heartfelt statement on why the foundation was built is mentioned on the organization's official website:

“Through this foundation, our mission is to touch the lives of the underprivileged and disadvantaged in order to promote their attainment of a better quality of life. With the help of the community and our partners, we strive to have a positive impact on the lives of Philadelphians and Torontonians most in need through supportive programs and initiatives.”

Since then, Lowry has gone above and beyond in extending help for the community. He has always made the most of the holidays, dishing out donations and free meals for children and for their families.

This upcoming season, Lowry and the new-look Raptors will try to give the Toronto community a long-coveted achievement: an NBA championship.
