Toronto Raptors point guard Kyle Lowry still has no intention of discussing the DeMar DeRozan trade with Raptors president Masai Ujiri.

Both Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan were mad about the trade that sent DeRozan, Jakob Poeltl and a first-round pick to the San Antonio Spurs in exchange for Kawhi Leonard and Danny Green. Ujiri reportedly told DeRozan in Las Vegas during Summer League that he wasn’t going to trade him. DeRozan was very upset by the trade and is not backing off his claim that he was lied to.

Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan are best friends off the court, so the trade hurt Lowry. The four-time All-Star has moved on, though, and is ready to put it behind him since the season is in full swing.

Any bitterness or sadness that Lowry might feel over having his “dog” shipped out or over how the situation was handled — DeRozan claims he was misled; Ujiri has apologized for any miscommunication — has been mostly kept inside, reflected only in his continuation of a pregame handshake ritual with an imaginary DeRozan. Lowry hasn’t spoken with Ujiri about the move, nor does he plan to ever discuss it with him.

“It’s no point now,” Lowry said. “He did it. He made his decision. That’s his choice. All I can do is go hoop. Take that however you want.”

The Raptors enter their Thursday matchup with the Golden State Warriors at 18-4. That's the best record in the NBA. Kyle Lowry is averaging 15.6 points, 4.3 rebounds and 10.2 assists per game while shooting 46.3 percent from the field, 36.2 percent from beyond the arc and 82.6 percent from the free-throw line.

Lowry and Leonard will never have the relationship Lowry and DeRozan had, but it really doesn't matter as long as the two stars are jelling on the court and winning games for the Raptors.
