Toronto Raptors star Kyle Lowry is still confident in his team's chances even without Kawhi Leonard. According to the veteran guard, “everyone will fill the void” left by the star forward.

Per Josh Lewenberg of TSN, Lowry noted that Leonard is definitely one of the top players in the league. As such, it will be difficult to fill in the gaps left by such a talented star. But as a team, they succeed in this tall task.

“Listen, Kawhi is one of the top players in the NBA and his void can't be filled (by one or two players) because of his talent and his abilities and what he can do on the floor. But as a team we can go out there and grow and be better,” Lowry said. “Everyone will fill the void.”

In their opening win against the New Orleans Pelicans, the Raptors proved that their championship mettle is pretty much intact. Key players from last year such as Fred VanVleet and Pascal Siakam are now considered the team's focal points.

Lowry, for his part, continues to be the team's leader. His veteran presence and voice will be crucial as the Raptors embark on the tedious task of defending their title and at the same time, developing their core for the long haul.

So Raptors fans need not worry. Even without a polarizing figure like Leonard, the Raptors will do just fine.
