Toronto Raptors point guard Kyle Lowry has been listed as probable to return to the court for Monday's showdown against the New York Knicks, per Blake Murphy of The Athletic.

Lowry has missed each of his team's past two contests due to an ankle injury, but it appears he is ready to suit up against their division rivals.

Getting the news that Kyle Lowry is trending towards playing comes as a boon to Toronto. They are already set to take the floor without Kawhi Leonard, who is yet to appear in the second leg of a back-to-back all season after a right quad injury cost him the majority of his 2017-18 year.

Coming into the night, Lowry is second in the league with 9.1 assists dished out per game, on pace to cruise to a new career high. While he has gotten his teammates more involved this season than ever before, his scoring average has dipped to 14.8 per contest — having appeared in 56 of the team's first 70 games.

Lowry's return to the fold likely pushes Jeremy Lin back to the bench. Fred Van Vleet returned from a thumb injury Sunday, giving Toronto ample backcourt options to spell Lowry.

The Raptors have little reason to push Lowry into action though, as they enter the day with a four-game cushion on the no.2 seed in the Eastern Conference playoff picture and trail the Milwaukee Bucks for the top seed by three games. Toronto has knocked off the Knicks in both prior meetings this season, with the two squads wrapping up their season series on March 28 at Madison Square Garden.
