Toronto Raptors point guard Kyle Lowry has been listed as questionable to play in Game 1 of the team's conference semifinal against the Boston Celtics on Sunday.

Lowry suffered an ankle sprain in the series finale against the Brooklyn Nets, but he participated in the Raptors' practice on Saturday.

Head coach Nick Nurse said Lowry “looked okay” during practice, though it remains to be seen whether he will suit up for Game 1.

The veteran point guard has been an instrumental part of the team's success this year. Lowry averaged 19.4 points, 7.5 rebounds and 5.0 rebounds during the regular season while also ranking in the top 20 in terms of total win shares.

Lowry has also epitomized the gritty nature of this Raptors team. He is one of the feistiest players on the floor, and led the NBA in charges drawn this season.

The 34-year-old struggled to shoot the ball efficiently against the Nets, but the Raptors could certainly use Lowry's defensive presence as they prepare for a lethal Celtics backcourt.

Boston swept past the Philadelphia 76ers despite losing swingman Gordon Hayward in Game 1. Jayson Tatum took on more of the burden as a scorer and rebounder. Point guard Kemba Walker found success running the pick-and roll with Celtics big man Daniel Theis, ducking behind screens for easy triples and also getting to the rim at will.

The Raptors' own backcourt will most certainly have its hands full, especially considering either Lowry or VanVleet are going to be at a size disadvantage depending on who draws Jaylen Brown.

In any case, it seems Lowry could be a game-time decision ahead of the series opener.
