Back in July, Toronto Raptors star guard Kyle Lowry was rewarded by the team with a three-year contract worth $100 million. He continues to be extremely valuable to the Raptors for his dynamic scoring ability, playmaking skills and toughness on the court.

However, according to a tweet today from Ryan Wolstat of the Toronto Sun, Lowry admitted that his toughness would not translate as well over to the sport of football.

In the Raptors' 107-84 win over the New York Knicks on Friday night, the duo of Lowry and star shooting guard DeMar DeRozan flexed their muscles and were simply too much to handle for the Knicks. With a double-double effort, Lowry had 22 points and 10 assists on the night, while DeRozan had 22 points of his own as Toronto improved to 5-1 at home this season.

In 15 games so far in the 2017-18 NBA season, Lowry has seen his scoring average take a bit of a dip compared to last year when he averaged 22.4 points per game as an All-Star for the third year in a row. This season, Lowry is still managing to put up good numbers with 14.9 points, 7.2 assists and 5.5 rebounds per game in 31.9 minutes per contest.

Lowry and the Raptors (10-5) have today off and will look for their fourth straight win on Sunday afternoon when they take on the Washington Wizards (9-6) at Air Canada Centre. The contest, which is scheduled to tip off shortly after 3:30 p.m. ET, will be broadcast live locally on Sportsnet ONE.
