Toronto Raptors point guard Kyle Lowry has been in awe of what superstar small forward Kawhi Leonard has done on the basketball floor this season. Lowry and Leonard have guided the Raptors to a 30-12 record entering Tuesday, and Toronto is currently in first place in the Eastern Conference standings.

Lowry, who has been sidelined with a back injury lately, says the way Leonard plays basketball makes you appreciate just how great of a talent he is.

“Kawhi is an unbelievable basketball player,” Lowry told Chris Mannix of The Crossover. “He just does him. There are a lot of things he can do talent-wise where you’re just like wow.”

After only playing in nine games last season with the San Antonio Spurs, some around the league were wondering what type of player Kawhi Leonard would be this season. Leonard has quieted all the critics and is showing he is still one of the best basketball players in the world.

In 32 games this year for the Raptors, Leonard is averaging 27.2 points, 7.9 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game. The two-time Defensive Player of the Year is shooting 49.9 percent from the field, 36.2 percent from beyond the arc and 84.8 percent from the free-throw line.

Lowry is having a pretty solid season as well for Toronto. The four-time All-Star is averaging 14.4 points and 9.7 assists. With Leonard and Lowry leading the way, the Raptors are looking to advance to the NBA Finals for the first time in franchise history.
