Khem Birch has become quite the revelation for the Toronto Raptors ever since he joined his home country's squad. On Monday night in their win over the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Montreal native tied his career-high with 14 points, most of which came off assists from star point guard Kyle Lowry. Birch himself admitted that it was the ā€œeasiestā€ 14 points he has ever scored in his career. Apparently, Lowry is making a concerted effort in getting the 28-year old a nice bag this coming summer.

Via Josh Lewenberg of TSN Sports:

Lowry didn't need to score much in Toronto's 112-96 victory over the Cavs. He scored just nine points, but did dish out 10 assists on the evening, the majority of which wound up becoming easy buckets for Birch.

Birch's arrival in Toronto has become quite the story. The 6-foot-9 big man was born in Montreal and for obvious reasons, grew up a Raptors fan. After not being drafted coming out of UNLV, Birch eventually made his way to the NBA in 2017 with the Orlando Magic.

After four seasons, the Magic waived Birch earlier this month. The Raptors, who desperately needed bigger bodies up front, immediately swooped in to sign the Canadian. So far, his eight games with Toronto suggests he is a perfect fit. He is averaging 9.4 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks with the Raptors so far.

Per Spotrac, Birch has made a little over $8 million in his career. With the way he's playing so far in a Raptors uniform (and with a little help from Kyle Lowry), Birch may finally get his big break in the NBA.
