Another All-Star has decided to withdraw his commitment to Team USA with less than three weeks remaining before the FIBA World Cup. Toronto Raptors guard Kyle Lowry has officially announced on Instagram that he will not be playing for the US men's national basketball team.

Lowry has been dealing with an injury to his left thumb and underwent successful surgery three weeks ago. However, as Lowry confirmed on his announcement, he wasn't cleared to play and perform any basketball-related activities.

Sacramento Kings guard De'Aaron Fox is one of the players who are expected to take Lowry's spot on Team USA.

Over the past couple of months, Team USA has seen guys like Anthony Davis, James Harden, Damian Lillard and Bradley Beal back out from playing in the FIBA World Cup. Unlike Lowry though, they withdrew from the team to focus on the upcoming NBA campaign.

Lowry can't risk re-aggravating his injury, as he's one of the most important players for the Raptors next season. The defending champions just lost Kawhi Leonard in free agency, so they can't afford to lose the veteran point guard for an extended period of time ion their bid to make the playoffs and defend their title.

As the FIBA World Cup draws near, Team USA keeps losing the best available players on its roster. It will now be up to the younger guys to step up.
