Toronto Raptors Kyle Lowry is apparently dealing with a right foot infection and will be out for at least a week to 10 days, according to TSN_Sports’ Josh Lewenberg. Raptors’ head coach Nick Nurse said that Lowry has been dealing with this injury for a while now and it has got worse last game.

Lowry, who was the subject of trade talks prior to the trade deadline, is averaging 17.0 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 7.3 assists this season. Many assumed he was no longer going to wear the Toronto jersey after the deadline but no offer satisfied the Raptors’ front office enough to give up Lowry. He will continue the rest of the season with the Raptors who have been disappointing, to say the least, this season.

The 2019 champions currently stand 11th in the Eastern Conference Standings but have lost three straight in a row. Losing Lowry will be a blow for the Raptors especially since Nurse just said that his point guard’s injury isn’t going well. Luckily for the Raptors, they have a couple of winnable games specifically versus the Shai Gilgeous-Alexander-less Oklahoma City Thunder team, the up-and-down Golden State Warriors, the Washington Wizards, and a depleted Los Angeles Lakers team.

The Raptors have played nine games without Lowry this season and have won six of them. Last January, Lowry missed games against the Miami Heat and Indiana Pacers because of the same injury. While there’s no particular player that can replace Lowry’s production, expect Fred VanVleet and Gary Trent to take over the backcourt while OG Anunoby and Pascal Siakam round out the frontcourt.
