Toronto Raptors president Masai Ujiri says he has had conversations with Pascal Siakam’s representatives regarding a contract extension.

Siakam is eligible for an extension. If he doesn’t sign one before the upcoming season starts, he’ll enter restricted free agency next summer.

“We've had conversations with Pascal's representation and we're excited whether it's going to be this fall or next summer, we're excited for the potential of what that could be,” Ujiri said, via Yahoo Sports. “He's somebody that we're going to keep for a long time.”

Under his current contract with the Raptors, Pascal Siakam will make $2.4 million in 2019-20. The talented swingman, who won the 2019 Most Improved Player of the Year Award, averaged 16.9 points, 6.9 rebounds and 3.1 assists for the Raptors during the regular season while shooting 54.9 percent from the field, 36.9 percent from beyond the arc and 78.5 percent from the free-throw line.

During the 2019 playoffs, Siakam put up 19.0 points, 7.1 rebounds and 2.8 assists. The Raptors defeated the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals in six games. Siakam scored 32 points in Game 1 while shooting an impressive 14-of-17 from the floor.

Kawhi Leonard left the Raptors this summer for the Los Angeles Clippers, which means Toronto is going to be asking Siakam to do a lot more this upcoming season. It wouldn’t be a surprise if we see Siakam made the All-Star team in 2020.
