The Toronto Raptors had offseason acquisition Goran Dragic as one of their opening day starters. Now the 14-year NBA veteran has been glued to the bench in the team's last two contests.

Dragic registered back-to-back DNPs for Toronto after he seemed poised to be a fixture in the team's rotation. Raptors coach Nick Nurse spoke out about the communication he's had with the former All-Star.

“He’s a very approachable guy, very professional guy. I talk to him everyday and I pretty much just tell him to stay ready… We’ll see where it goes from there.”

It's interesting to note that the Raptors won both games in which Goran Dragic sat, pulling their record up to .500 at 3-3 for the season.

Dragic is averaging just 6.6 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game thus far. While there's still a ton of season left and who knows what the future holds for him, this could potentially be the first season in a decade where he doesn't average double-digit points.

The Raptors have leaned into their gangly, limb-heavy lineups with standout rookies Scottie Barnes and Dalano Banton getting more burn than either expected.

Signs pointed to Goran Dragic getting bought out by the Raptors prior to the season, before they committed to keeping him on the roster. He could very well re-enter the rotation and make some solid contributions as early as next game, making all this discussion moot.

As Nick Nurse said, we'll just have to wait and see.
