From Nick Nurse's point of view, Toronto Raptors forward OG Anunoby is in the ‘best condition he's been in.'

After their second preseason game, Nurse shared his observations on the 22-year-old forward who's now in his third year in the league. According to Nurse, Anunoby is healthier than ever.

“He’s not only healthy, but he’s probably in the best condition he’s been in. He’s slimmer,” Nurse said, per Ryan Wolstat of the Toronto Sun.

This will definitely translate into an improved performance from OG Anunoby. Nurse praised his defensive abilities and noted how he can be one of the team's defensive anchors in the future. On offense, Nurse hopes that Anunoby gets back on track with his stroke from deep.

“There’s no health problems. He had just a bunch of all kinds of things just an unfortunate season last year (but) first and foremost he’s got a real knack and a talent on defence,” Nurse said. “He’s big, 6-8, can move with speed, steal the ball. He stepped into a charge tonight. He had two or three deflections and things he knocked away. That’s one way he can help our team is becoming one of our primary defensive stoppers. And then I hope he gets back to shooting the ball like his rookie season,” Nurse said.

“He shot that season at 37%. That’s pretty good.”

As the Raptors embark on a title defense without a superstar, every single player's performance will be critical. OG Anunoby, who suited up but did not play in the NBA Finals, will likely be fielded by Nurse more often than not this season. And he will respond.
