Free agent forward Otto Porter Jr., a key member of the Golden State Warriors championship core, won't be returning to the team next season. Porter has signed a two-year contract with the Toronto Raptors in NBA free agency, per Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports.

Porter's deal with the Raptors contains a player option ahead of the second season. No compensation numbers are known at the time of this publishing, though Porter is believed to have secured a more lucrative deal than the veteran minimum offer that the Warriors had on the table.

The money wasn't the only incentive for Porter, whose wife hails from Toronto.

The Dubs have now lost two of their key rotational pieces, Gary Payton II and Porter, in NBA free agency. Meanwhile, the Raptors add depth on the wing in the nine-year veteran.

Porter averaged 8.2 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.1 steals while shooting 37 percent from beyond the arc. He figures to be an important depth piece behind starter OG Anunoby.

The Raptors, who shot just 34.9 percent from the three-point line, should also benefit from Porter's ability beyond the arc. It's a solid move for a franchise looking to build off of their eighth playoff berth in the last nine seasons.

In Golden State, the Warriors will hope that their young talent on the wing takes a step forward next season.
