After officially agreeing to sign with the Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday, Serge Ibaka couldn't leave the Toronto Raptors faithful with a sour taste in their mouth.

Ibaka took to his Instagram account on Sunday to elaborate on his gratitude to a franchise he called home for three-plus seasons:

Ibaka explored the option of returning to the Raptors after they got a commitment from Fred VanVleet on a four-year, $85 million deal, but he ultimately decided to join the Clippers. Ibaka dramatically improved his stock during the 2019-20 season, earning career highs in the scoring department. He finished the season averaging 15.4 points while shooting a 51.2 percent clip from the field.

While Toronto was a bit surprised by not securing Ibaka's services again, LA was thrilled to steal him away. The Clippers had already lost Montrezl Harrell and JaMychal Green in free agency, so getting a capable replacement in the frontcourt like Ibaka was quite the coup.

LA still has a bit of work to do in order to fill out some roles, particularly at the guard spot. Most of the high-caliber guards are off the board, leaving the Clippers forced to either find talent through trades or closely observing what's left on the market in free agency.

As for the Raptors, they're still trying to bring back Marc Gasol.
