It's no question that the Toronto Raptors are not having the best season. So much so that their former swingman Norman Powell has won more games with the Portland Trail Blazers than with the Raptors in the whole month of March.

Note that Powell was recently traded to the Trail Blazers and has played only two games. He has helped the team win both of those games while the Raptors are still stuck with just one victory this month. Interestingly, Powell achieved the interesting statistic at the expense of his former squad on Sunday.

It's a bittersweet statistic. Powell is pleased with his new team right now, but at the same time, it's probably difficult for him to look at the team standings and see the Raptors near the bottom pile. After all, the 27-year-old UCLA product did not just help the Raptors win their first title in history in 2019, but he also slowly built his career donning the Raptors jersey.

In fact, even before the trade, he was having a breakout season averaging a career-high 19.7 points per game. Despite his efforts, however, the Raptors were continuously falling down the ladder. This was likely the reason for the little tweak that sent Powell to Rip City in exchange for Gary Trent Jr. and Rodney Hood.

In the Trail Blazers' 122-117 win over the Raptors, Norman Powell had 13 points, three rebounds, and a steal. He was 3-of-6 from the field and 6-of-9 from the free-throw line. It's a good follow-up from his 22-point output in his Trail Blazers debut against the Orlando Magic last Friday.
