According to several official reports, the Toronto Raptors have decided to upgrade Lorenzo Brown's contract. Brown signed a two-way deal with Toronto in July and was recently named the 2017-18 NBA G League MVP.

After signing his two-way deal with the team, Brown went on to average 18.8 points on 46.8 percent shooting from the field, 8.9 assists, 5.2 rebounds, and 1.78 steals in 32 games (all starts) with Raptors 905 (Toronto's G-League affiliate). With Brown in the lineup, Raptors 905 carried a 25-7 record.

“Brown is in his fifth G League season and helped lift Raptors 905 to the second-best record in the Eastern Conference. They lost to the Austin Spurs in the G League championship series.”

Brown made 14 appearances with the Raptors this season, averaging 2.3 points on 41.2 percent shooting from the field, 1.1 rebounds, and just under one assists (0.9) in 9.9 minutes per game. The former North Carolina State standout recorded a season-high 11 points in a game against the Detroit Pistons on April 9th and a season-high five assists against the Cleveland Cavaliers on January 11th.

Not familiar with Brown's game? That's alright. Just have a go at some of his highlights. You'll see why the Raptors decided to upgrade his contract.

Brown will be eligible for Toronto's playoff push, which starts this weekend.

The Eastern Conference-leading Raptors will close out their regular season campaign with a matchup against the Miami Heat on Wednesday night. Tip-off from South Beach is set for 8:00 p.m. EST.
