An anonymous NBA agent says Kawhi Leonard is re-signing with the Toronto Raptors, according to Mark Jones of ESPN. This comes right after ESPN's Jalen Rose said he's 99 percent sure Leonard is going back to Toronto.

The prevailing thought is that Leonard will sign a short-term deal with the Raptors if he decides to stay in Toronto and spurn both teams in Los Angeles:

Leonard has played in the NBA for eight seasons. Once he gets to his 10th year, Leonard will be in position to get the largest maximum deal for a player of his tenure.

The Raptors don't really have to sell anything to Leonard. They already showed the superstar he can win a championship in Toronto and their medical staff will manage his health well during the regular season. At this point, Leonard has to decide if he really wants to go back home to LA to play for the Lakers or Clippers or run it back with the Raptors to try and defend their title next season.

Leonard averaged 26.6 points, 7.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists during the regular season for the Raptors. Toronto won its first-ever championship by defeating the Golden State Warriors in the 2019 Finals in six games. Leonard put up 30.5 points in the 2019 playoffs and won his second Finals MVP. He has firmly established himself as one of the best players in NBA history.
