There was once a time when Danny Green rocked the Cleveland Cavaliers colors proudly. Sure, it may have been for a total of 115 regular-season minutes during his rookie season in 2009-10, appearing in 20 combined games off the bench, but that was the franchise that drafted the Long Island product in the second round of the 2009 NBA Draft.

Fast-forward to Friday night and we have Green going all Karate Kid on the Cavs' mascot, who was decked out in the team's new alternate uniform, of all things.

The Cavaliers' mascot in the house for a Toronto Raptors/New Orleans Pelicans game is certainly strange (especially while a Cavaliers game is taking place in South Beach), but not nearly as strange as Green trying to kick the mascot's tail off for straggling too far onto the court.

Even more surprising is that with Green's usual marksmanship, he didn't land a direct blow to the wandering mascot. On the court, Green shot 5-for-8 overall Friday, including 3-for-4 from long range, giving him 13 points across his 24 minutes.

Green has come a long ways from his former Cavaliers days, having won an NBA Championship as a member of the San Antonio Spurs in 2014, before joining the Raptors ahead of the 2018-19 campaign as a part of the blockbuster Kawhi Leonard/DeMar DeRozan trade. After three down seasons from long range by Green's standards, he has spiked back up to 43.3 percent this season, in line to potentially set multiple career highs if he can keep his level of play up down the stretch of the season.
