DeMar DeRozan has been nothing short of spectacular for the Toronto Raptors this year. The superstar is currently averaging 25.0 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 4.9 assists, while shooting 36 percent from behind the arc. His tremendous play has brought the Raptors' franchise back to relevance, especially since the team is the second best in the Eastern Conference with a 27-10 record. On Monday night, the Raptors found themselves down 111-113 to the Brooklyn Nets with only 30 seconds left in overtime. In the Raptors' possession, DeRozan was given the ball and he went to work.

Off a perfectly set screen, DeRozan was able to get free and drain a clutch floater with only 26.1 seconds left on the clock. He converted the shot and free throw to give the Raptors the lead for good, winning 114-113 in a close victory. DeRozan had 35 points, 3 rebounds, and 6 assists in the victory. DeRozan has been given the keys to the Raptors' organization since Chris Bosh left for Miami in 2010. Head coach Dwane Casey has reiterated that DeRozan's is Toronto's main man, according to Doug Smith of The Star.

“He’s the face of the Raptors, and rightfully so, he’s a quality man. He represents the Raptors, he’s proud to be a Toronto Raptor and that says a lot for him. And he carries himself the right way. Offensively, he’s setting (franchise) records and doing things and, team-wise, helping produce wins. I think that’s the most important thing of all. He could be putting up big numbers on a bad team, but he’s putting up big numbers and in the process we’re contending to win a conference title.”

The Raptors take on the Heat on Tuesday night. DeRozan's brilliant performance against the Nets just may carry over to the next one.
