DeMar DeRozan had a career night on Monday as he welcomed the new year with a career-high 52 points, en route to a 131-127 win by the Toronto Raptors over the Milwaukee Bucks.

The three-time All-Star guard turned a lot of heads with his impressive performance, even breaking the Raptors' record for most point by a player in a single game. His teammates knew it was a special night for him and Jonas Valanciunas made sure he highlighted the scoring outbreak during DeRozan’s post-game interview. Valanciunas videobombed his teammate while holding on to a “52” sign, reminiscent of Wilt Chamberlain’s epic 100-point performance back in March 2, 1962.

DeMar DeRozan showed his full arsenal of moves, scoring in different ways including on jumpers and drives to the basket. He finished 17-of-29 from the field and also recorded five rebounds, eight assists, one steal, and one block on the night.

If the 28-year-old USC product will be able to build on the momentum he has following his monster game, it could start another solid run for the Raptors who have now won two consecutive games. It could also lead to a hot streak for him which will definitely help his bid to become an All-Star once again.
