Wait, how have you been pronouncing Kyle Lowry's name? It's probably wrong, and you wouldn't be the only person who was hopelessly pronouncing the Toronto Raptors point guard's name. It's pronounced Kyle, not Ky-le. Wait, what?

Lowry specifies his name as one syllable, not two as most people are used to saying. It's a very subtle difference, but it's a difference nonetheless. It only took Lowry 12 years in the league before he decided to set the record straight. But this is such a subtle difference, it's probably not something that really bothers him at this point in his life.

Lowry is probably more concerned with how his new-look Raptors fare this season. The team made a huge change to the makeup of the roster when they acquired Kawhi Leonard and Danny Green in exchange for DeMar DeRozan and Jakob Poeltl. Sometimes when such a monumental trade is made, it takes teams time to jell and develop chemistry.

If it does work with Leonard, the Raptors could be one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference. Leonard is one of the best defenders in the league and can be absolutely dominant on offense. There's no telling how good this Toronto team can be if Lowry and Leonard mesh nicely.

Lowry's fit alongside Leonard is something the point guard is concerned about after he got along so well with DeRozan. He's probably not too worried about whether or not people pronounce his first name with one or two syllables. That being said, broadcasters and reporters should take notice and start — at least — trying to pronounce Kyle correctly.
