The Toronto Raptors came out firing against the Brooklyn Nets in their Saturday night matchup, drilling in nine 3-pointers in the first quarter.

Entering the contest, the Raptors were averaging 13.5 long-distance connections on 36.1 attempts per game which translates to a 37.5 percent success rate.

Furthermore, Toronto's barrage sets a new franchise record for the defending champions.

The Raptors, despite missing Fred VanVleet due to a right knee contusion, are looking as sharp as ever. The season has been a treat for the team considering the success they're having after losing Kawhi Leonard in free agency.

As of this writing, the team from north of the border is holding a 16-8 record, good for fifth place in the much-improved Eastern Conference.
