The Baltimore Ravens have added two key pieces to their defense this NFL offseason, adding a much-needed nose tackle in Michael Pierce while making a splash at safety by signing free agent Marcus Williams. On Saturday, the Ravens brought back a familiar face to their defensive line. ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that the Ravens have agreed to terms on a deal with defensive end Calais Campbell.

Schefter reports that the Ravens and Campbell are in agreement on a two-year deal. That means that the six-time Por Bowler will be coming back to Baltimore after spending the last two seasons with the franchise.

Campbell has made one Pro Bowl with the Ravens, totaling 77 tackles and 5.5 sacks in the two seasons. 2021 was another excellent year for the veteran lineman, as he earned an 80.8 grade from Pro Football Focus.

The six-time Pro Bowler helped the Ravens field the league's best run defense, as the unit allowed just 84.5 rushing yards per contest.

Beyond his skill on the field, Campbell is also viewed as one of the leaders in the Ravens' locker room. The 35-year-old was pondering a return to football at the beginning of the offseason, though one has to think that Baltimore was one of the first teams to contact the unrestricted free agent when he decided he was coming back.

Now, Campbell will try to help the Ravens compete in a loaded AFC next season.
