Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Dez Bryant was robbed of the opportunity to have a revenge game on Tuesday night against the Dallas Cowboys.

Bryant was on the field during warmups when he was abruptly sent back into the locker room and told he had tested positive for COVID-19.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Network gave a full breakdown of the timeline, which began with results from Tuesday morning's test arriving late. When Bryant's first sample arrived, the results were inconclusive. The second sample was also inconclusive, which resulted in the NFL asking Bryant to take a point-of-care test. That result was positive.

Bryant was ruled out due to illness, though the NFL concluded there were no high-risk contacts associated with his case:

Dez Bryant was understandably frustrated by how everything played out.

The former All-Pro wideout almost immediately took to Twitter to announce he had tested positive before suggesting he was calling it quits for 2020, though he later rescinded the latter statement:

Bryant also seemed to question the veracity of the results, saying he has the same exact routine every week:

Then the real fun began.

Dez promptly tweeted about his decision to sit down with a bottle of wine and watch his Ravens take on his old team, inviting followers to tweet out what they were drinking. Bryant also alluded to some personal business plans and joked he was not drunk after a glass of wine:

Bryant ended on a bit more of a somber note, however, saying he wanted to “prove a point” to his former team:

It remains to be seen what Dez Bryant's timeline looks like going forward, though he could very easily miss up to two weeks. However, he should be available for the final week(s) as well as the playoffs.
