Marcus Peters has made a positive effect on the Baltimore Ravens and the team is rewarding him for his play with the team. According to Adam Schefter, Baltimore has agreed to a three-year, $42 million extension with Peters.

Along with the contract being worth a total of $42 million, $32 million of it will be guaranteed. Instead of being a free agent in 2020, Peters will become the highest-paid cornerback in 2020; making $20.5 million next season.

Earlier this season, Peters was traded to the Ravens from the Los Angeles Rams. At just 26-years-old, Peters has already been traded three times in his five years in the NFL.

Since arriving in Baltimore in Week 7, Peters has been responsible for 38 tackles, 10 deflections, three interceptions, and two defensive touchdowns. If you combine his numbers with the Rams earlier in the season, he has three pick-sixes in 2019.

Without a doubt, the Ravens are thankful to have landed Peters ahead of the NFL trade deadline. Especially since it only took Kenny Young and a late-round draft pick to acquire the Pro Bowl cornerback.

Over his career, Peters has become notorious for being a ball-hawking cornerback that can be had at certain times. Nevertheless, Peters has carved out a vital role in Baltimore on the best team (record-wise) in the NFL.

For the 2019 season, Peters was playing in the final year of his rookie contract and made $5.8 million altogether. Now, the trash-talking cornerback has finally gotten the elusive long-term extension that he's been wanting with the other two teams he's played for.
