The Baltimore Ravens called upon Tyler Huntley to start in place of Lamar Jackson Week 15, and Huntley delivered massively despite the loss to the Green Bay Packers. Well, the situation at quarterback for Baltimore may have just gotten a whole lot worse. According to Ian Rapoport, Huntley is dealing with a non-COVID related illness that prevented him from practicing on Friday.

With Huntley dealing with an illness, and Jackson having been out of practice for nearly two weeks, there is significant concern heading into a crucial matchup with the Ravens in Week 16.

For insight on the Ravens' Week 16 matchup against the Bengals, listen below:

Fortunately, Huntley's injury isn't expected to sideline him for the matchup with the Bengals. According to NFL Network's Aditi Kinkhabwala, Huntley is still “fully expected to start” on Sunday, despite his illness.

Ravens fans should all be issuing a collective sigh of relief in light of the Huntley update. Had the Ravens QB been unable to suit up against the Bengals, John Harbaugh would have been forced to start Josh Johnson, who is the team's third-string quarterback as of now.

In Huntley's Week 15 showing against the Green Bay Packers, the second-year quarterback had an all-around stellar outing, achieving a feat Jackson has never accomplished during his Ravens tenure. Huntley threw for two touchdown passes and rushed for two more in the 31-30 loss against the Packers. He racked up 215 passing yards with 28 completions, in addition to 13 carries for 73 rushing yards.

Of course, the Ravens would love to have Jackson back under center for the pivotal rivalry matchup, but Huntley's performance last week proved he's more than capable of handling the starting duties. Ravens fans will just have to hope his illness doesn't cause too much of a hinderance on Sunday.
