The Baltimore Ravens have experienced some turnover to their roster this offseason. It appears the changes have made way for a potential breakout year from wide receiver Chris Moore.

Moore has largely played a minor role on offense and special teams throughout his first three seasons in Baltimore. According to Ryan Mink of the team website, team owner Steve Bisciotti is expecting big things from him in the 2019 NFL season:

“I wouldn't be surprised to see Chris Moore being a breakout candidate.”

Head coach John Harbaugh echoed Bisciotti's expectations.

“It's up to the player to make the move and do something about it. But I would say Chris is ready to do that and has been ready to do that. He practices really hard, he works hard in the weight room, he knows the offense very well, and he makes spectacular catches out here very often.”

The sudden expectations for Moore may come as a bit of a surprise considering his contributions thus far. The Ravens initially took Moore in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft.

He has largely struggled to etch out a major role in the offense up to this point in his career with the majority of his production coming via special teams. He finished the 2018 campaign with just 19 receptions for 196 yards and one touchdown

Despite his modest numbers, it is safe to say that Moore has made the most of his limited playing time. Baltimore is clearly enamored with his skill set as a playmaker as they look to re-ignite this offense around quarterback Lamar Jackson moving forward.

Many predict that the Ravens will rely heavily on the run game moving forward with Jackson and running back Mark Ingram. Regardless, they will need to find a safety net for the young quarterback if they hope to develop a more balanced approach in 2019.
