The Baltimore Ravens have relied on Lamar Jackson for the majority of their rushing yards. Devonta Freeman and Latavius Murray added to the run game, but not enough to fulfill the team's needs.

However, this quarterback rush-heavy team could be changing this offseason. The Ravens are looking to add depth to their run game with the acquisition of free agent Melvin Gordon.

NFL insider Ian Rapoport tweeted the news Friday morning.

Gordon is one of the top running backs on the market right now. He spent the last two years with the Denver Broncos, but the team has yet to secure an extension with the star running back.

Gordon has been available for over three weeks, since the 2022 NFL Free Agency began in mid-March. According to recent reports, Denver would love to bring him back alongside recent re-signing Kareem Jackson.

However, if the Broncos don't act fast, Gordon could quickly become a member of the Ravens. Last season, Lamar Jackson led Baltimore's run game with 133 attempts for 767 yards and two touchdowns in only 12 games.

Meanwhile, Gordon recorded 203 attempts for 918 yards and eight rushing touchdowns in 16 games. That's over 300 more yards than Baltimore's second most productive rusher, running back Devonta Freeman. It's also two more touchdowns than the Ravens' top rushing touchdown scorer, running back Latavius Murray.
