The Baltimore Ravens are closing in on another free-agent wide receiver. Unfortunately, it’s not Dez Bryant. Instead, the Ravens are signing New Orleans Saints restricted free agent wide receiver Willie Snead to a two-year offer sheet worth up to $10.4 million, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports.

The Saints have five days to match the Ravens’ offer for Snead. But with New Orleans already signing former Chicago Bears wideout Cameron Meredith earlier this month, it seems unlikely that they will match the Ravens’ offer for Snead. Snead’s signing would likely take the Ravens out of the race to sign Dez Bryant, who is looking more and more likely to join the New York Giants.

Snead went undrafted coming out of Ball State in 2014, but he made an immediate impact upon getting the chance to play for the Saints in 2015. He racked up an impressive 141 catches for 1,879 yards and seven touchdowns in his first two seasons as part of the prolific Saints passing attack.

However, he is coming off a disastrous campaign last season which saw him deal with a three-game suspension and a hamstring issue which effectively helped knock him out of the Saints’ wide receiver depth chart. He was limited to just eight catches for 92 yards in 11 games.

The Ravens had expressed an interest in Snead as they brought him in for a tryout late last month. If he does end up in Baltimore, he’ll be the newest member of the Ravens’ receiving corps which has already added veterans Michael Crabtree and John Brown this offseason.
