Rookie Lamar Jackson has to wait his turn to become the Baltimore Ravens’ starting quarterback with Joe Flacco still entrenched in the position heading into this season. However, the Ravens are so eager to get him involved right away that they’re experimenting playing him and Flacco at the same time.

But if (or when) Jackson finally gets the chance to play behind center for the team, the Ravens could have something special on their hands. His teammates have already been raving about the rookie's abilities after what they’ve seen of him in practice.

“Every time he runs I’m in awe because most people — especially a quarterback — can’t move the way he does,” wide receiver Chris Moore said per Jamison Hensley of ESPN. “So you just know that this year he’s going to make some plays, for sure.”

Meanwhile, Ravens linebacker C.J. Mosley has taken it a step further and uttered the name of the player who has often been compared with Jackson — Mike Vick.

“Once he gets out of the pocket, it’s like watching a young Michael Vick,” Mosley said per Hensley. “It’s amazing to watch. When you’re defending him, you just have to act like you’re tagging off — you don’t want to be on the highlight reel. … It’s fun to watch him. It’s good to see him out there making plays and being comfortable.”

While Jackson clearly has the Vick-like athleticism to make plays with his feet, he still has to learn the other important things that go with being a top quarterback in the league. But he has time on his side, though, as the Ravens are in no rush to put him in that spot yet. Until then, he can still make an immediate impact if the Ravens are able to put him in those positions to succeed.
