The Baltimore Ravens suffered a narrow defeat to the Kansas City Chiefs to put a smear on their season record. However, Earl Thomas believes that this won't be the last time the teams will trade blows on the football field.

The defensive back will not forget this close battle and had a short message for his team and their opponents.

“We’re going to see them again,” he said, per the Baltimore Sun. “And this tape is going to be everything to me.”

The Kansas City Chiefs managed to pull away from the Ravens after a second-quarter barrage that helped Patrick Mahomes finish the game with 374 passing yards and three touchdowns. The defense, however, wasn't able to put their stamp on the game as the Ravens managed to score for three straight quarters.

His teammates share Thomas' sentiment and believe that they could have done better against the Chiefs defensively.

“Defensively, I thought there were a couple of plays I wish we could have back. A couple of penalties I wish we could have back as well,” said safety Tony Jefferson, whose pass-interference penalty wiped out a third-quarter interception by Brandon Carr.

“But at the end of the day, we’ve got to play better, play more sound, play more fundamentally sound. It’s Week 3, so get back to the drawing board 2-1, and I still think we’re in great shape. I still have faith in everybody in our locker room, and we just go from there.”

If there was a positive that could be taken away from the game, it's the fact that the Ravens have become an aggressive football team that relies on analytics as much as on old-school methods. This mix of sport and science should bode well for the Ravens' future.

The next time these two teams face, the defense will be hounding Mahomes and the Chiefs' offense a lot harder.
