Since the start of the 2019 season, opposing defenses have been unable to figure out how to defend quarterback Lamar Jackson.

After throwing 33 passing touchdowns and rushing for the most yards by a quarterback in league history in a single season, it's still unclear as to how to stop him. And even his own teammates on defense, such as safety Earl Thomas, doesn't know either.

“It would be very, very tough,” Thomas told Sal Paolantonio of ESPN (per Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk). “You can’t really turn your back against him, once he gets past the front, he can run. I really don’t have the answer, man. I keep telling guys, even if I did I probably wouldn’t even tell anybody about it.”

It's a fair point as he doesn't want to give opponents the upper hand on how to defend his quarterback. But he doesn't have that answer. No one does. And it is resulting in Jackson likely earning the MVP award this season for his play.

Only a few teams have been able to slow him down this season. The week three-through-five games were an indicator of that as he threw four touchdowns to five interceptions and went 1-2 during that stretch. He would also be sacked 12 times and fumbled the ball twice during that period as well.

However, he has a chance to play against two of those opponents, the Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers, in the last two games of the season. Opposing defenses will see if those two teams still have some semblance of an idea of how to stop or slow down the second-year quarterback.
