Baltimore Ravens safety Earl Thomas took to social media to reveal a personal incident that he expected to be reported by gossip site TMZ.

The 31-year-old offered details of the said incident to get ahead of TMZ, whom he said was able to obtain a police report of his case.

Speaking on Instagram looking somewhat distraught, the Ravens veteran mentioned that he had talks with his agent saying that reports would soon surface about an altercation that happened between him and his wife. Before everything else becomes out of control, Thomas acted early and clarified the situation.

It seems like the Pro-Bowl safety was right to set the record straight early, as reports of his altercation with his wife have now emerged via TMZ — probably as a response to the released video.

The story details an argument that happened on April 13th involving Thomas, his wife Nina Thomas, and several other people. The former Texas Longhorn was obviously upset about the leaks of the incident and has asked his followers to send their prayers.

Earl Thomas came into the Ravens as a free agent signing in 2019. Along with Marlon Humphrey and Marcus Peters, Thomas helped the team boast one of the best secondaries in the league. The team ranked third in defense in the NFL en route to a 14-2 record.

This is certainly not the kind of news the Ravens needs right now. After having a successful season in which they seemingly filled every void in their roster, they are poised to make another run in the AFC North and make a deep playoff run.
