After the season Eric Weddle said if he didn't come back with the Baltimore Ravens he would retire, but he appears to have changed his tune a bit. Weddle told the Baltimore Sun that he isn't sure if things are going to get worked out with the Ravens, and if they don't he might be open to playing somewhere else.

“[I’m] not sure if things are going to get worked out with Baltimore,” Weddle said via the Baltimore Sun.

Weddle has had conversations with the team but he is scheduled to make $6.5 million this offseason and it seems like the team might want him to take a pay cut. Weddle didn't say if the Ravens have told him they wanted him back but did say he understands if the team decides to go in a different direction.

“I want to finish out [my contract],” Weddle, 34, said. “But obviously, decisions have to be made for the future of the team, the organization. They’ve got to do what’s best for them, and I respect that.

If the team decides to go in a different direction Weddle will have to decide if he wants to go to another team, or hang up the cleats for good.

“. . .[We’ll] see if there’s something to be worked out. If not, then I’ve had an unbelievable experience here and loved every second. So if it does happen, we both move on and then . . . we’ll see if I’ll play somewhere else or hang ’em up.”

Weddle's stats weren't super impressive this past season but he was still a huge part of the Ravens defense that was one of the best in the league.
