The Baltimore Ravens made the big splash move just over a week ago in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft by moving into the 32nd overall pick to snag former Louisville star quarterback Lamar Jackson. The selection puts the former Heisman Trophy winner in a situation where he can quickly etch out a spot as the eventual replacement for longtime starter Joe Flacco.

In the meantime, Jackson has begun to make a notable impression on his new teammates with his work ethic and competitiveness in the first day of rookie minicamp, according to Tom Pelissero of The NFL Network.

Jackson clearly has the competitive fire to make an impact and strong impression on his new team to show the immense talent he brings to the table. The Ravens have a concise understanding of the player that they decided to bring aboard, believing he can be an effective quarterback at the next level with his dual-threat ability as both a passer and runner.

There are questions concerning his passing accuracy, but those are things that will be worked on as he hones his craft to become a more dependable thrower. He certainly possesses the arm strength to make deep passes down the field and the mobility to extend plays, creating opportunities out of thin air through the course of a game.

Jackson already appears to have added personal motivation after sliding down in the first round. In Baltimore, he doesn't have the weight of being thrown in as the starter from the get-go with Flacco still entrenched as QB #1. Nonetheless, there's a hope from both sides that he will be the franchise quarterback down the line.
