Through the first week of the free agency period, the available market for the wide receiver position has continued to dwindle down. However, there are still several viable options at the spot that could make a significant impact on any NFL team.

Among those players still without a team at this point is veteran wideout, Willie Snead. According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the 25-year-old is holding a visit with the Baltimore Ravens on Wednesday.

Despite the addition of Michael Crabtree on a three-year, $21 million deal, the Ravens still have a major need to upgrade the wide receiver position. Keep in mind, the front office had already decided to part ways with two of their top options at the position in Jeremy Maclin and Mike Wallace, which has left a significant void in the passing game. Aside from these two players no other wide receiver on the roster had more than 18 catches with both running Javrious “Buck” Allen (40) and tight end Benjamin Watson (61) each being the other two top receiving options from last season.

Although Snead saw a major drop off in production in the 2017 season recording just eight catches for 92 receiving yards in 11 games played, he has shown in his brief NFL career to be a high-impact player. Prior to that, he had recorded at least 69 catches and 890 receiving yards in each of his first two campaigns behind his big-play ability stretching the field.

What could quickly become an intriguing aspect of this situation is that Snead is a restricted free agent, which gives the Saints the ability to match any offer he receives. However, New Orleans may be willing to let him go given that his role on the team has diminished with Pro Bowl running backs Alvin Kamara and Mark Ingram becoming huge factors in the passing game. It will be interesting to see what the Saints will do with Snead as he makes his free agency decision in the near future.
