With Lamar Jackson under center for the Baltimore Ravens, the team will be looking for some different offensive players this offseason but new General Manager Eric DeCosta thinks that will actually allow the team to be more flexible.

While most players will be looking for a certain type of receiver, the Ravens will be looking for receivers who are excellent blockers because that is going to be key in an offense led by Jackson.

“This is a really, really fun, exciting offseason, because we get a chance to look at other teams, and maybe even have the chance to draft some players or add some players that maybe other teams don’t like as much as we do because we’re doing something different,” DeCosta said via ESPN. “So, we may be able to find or exploit that situation a little bit.”

The Ravens also should have a good amount of money to spend with the team expected to move on from Joe Flacco and Jackson still on his rookie contract. Even though the team is going to have a lot of flexibility it's going to be important that the team makes the right decisions to put the team in the best position to win.

“One of the things that we want to do is put ourselves in a really good salary cap situation now and also moving forward,” DeCosta said. “That’s the goal, that’s the challenge. I think we can get there. I think we’ll make strides this year. I think we’ll make more strides next year. Moving forward, that’s our plan. So, having a quarterback on a rookie deal is a big part of that.”

Once Jackson signs an extension it's going to take more cap space and they won't have as much money to spend on free agents.
