The Baltimore Ravens have spent their last two first-round picks on revitalizing their passing game. Offensive coordinator Greg Roman is now focused on building the rapport between quarterback Lamar Jackson and wide receiver Marquise Brown.

Brown is potentially set to make his preseason debut against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 3. According to ESPN's Jamison Hensley, Roman is looking to get Jackson and Brown well-acquainted on the field:

“Now, we have to build some chemistry with he and Lamar [Jackson]. His style is a little different. He can kick that gear in. You better put some mustard on that ball.”

Brown has gotten limited work in during training camp while recovering from a surgically repaired foot. As a result, he has missed out on ample time to build chemistry with his new quarterback. With only two games left in the preseason, he and Jackson will need to take advantage of the time they have left before the start of the 2019 NFL season.

The 25th overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft is expected to take part in the team's joint practices against the Eagles before they square off on Thursday. The coaching staff will likely take a cautious approach to ensure he is fully healthy and able to get some snaps in.

It is safe to assume that like any rookie, Brown will need some time to find his footing in the Ravens' offense.

This could be why Roman intends to put an emphasis on developing his connection with Jackson heading into the regular season.
