The Baltimore Ravens had a very successful season in 2018, and running back Gus Edwards seems to think they're only getting started. Baltimore took off once Lamar Jackson took over for Joe Flacco under center, and ended up winning the AFC North and hosting a playoff game.

Even though they ended up losing to the Chargers in the first round of the playoffs, there was still a lot to be excited about. Thanks in part to Jackson and Edwards, the team had a dominant rushing attack in the second half of the season.

That being said, the team was a bit one-dimensional at times, as Jackson was inconsistent as a passer during his rookie season. A lot of people have written the Ravens off as one-year wonders because of an alleged gimmick offense, but Edwards thinks they'll be able to diversify in 2019.

“A lot of people are going to be surprised with how much better we got in the passing game,” Edwards said recently, per Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic.

The Ravens have certainly done everything they could to reinvent the aerial attack. They let top receivers John Brown and Michael Crabtree walk, and replaced them with two early draft picks.

They drafted Marquise Brown in the first round and Miles Boykin in the third round, ensuring that Jackson's weapons are going to look a lot different in his second season. The team also added veterans Michael Floyd and Seth Roberts in free agency, and they have Willie Snead returning.

Ideally the running backs will be a big part of the passing game, so hopefully Edwards can improve on his receiving totals.

Last year, he caught only two passes for 20 yards.
