Joe Flacco and the Baltimore Ravens had no issue in Week 1 against the Buffalo Bills, but they had a real wake-up call in their 34-23 Week 2 loss against the Cincinnati Bengals. The Ravens got down big early against the Bengals and a comeback attempt came up short, but Flacco was still impressed with the comeback and thinks the team needs to keep their heads up, according to Kate Murphy of the Cincinnati Enquirer.

“You have to keep your head up and believe what your building around here,” Flacco said. “It wasn’t pretty and we didn’t come out with a win, but it’s a long season. We have to keep our heads up and be positive.”

Flacco finished the game throwing for 376 yards, two touchdowns, two interceptions, and a lost fumble. The 376 yards look good on paper, but Flacco struggled early as the Ravens fell behind 28-7, which meant in the second half they had to pass the ball. Flacco thinks the team didn't bounce back early enough in the first half and that cost them.

“When you do that in somebody else’s territory on a Thursday night you better be ready to bounce back quick,” Flacco said in a post-game interview, “and we just didn’t do it quick enough.”

There is obviously plenty of season left for the Ravens to continue their hunt for the playoffs, but this loss against a division rival still stings. This is a good division that is going to beat up on each other, so each win in the division is crucial. The Ravens weren't able to close the deal on Thursday night, but Flacco staying confident is also important.
