The Baltimore Ravens offense sputtered versus the Cleveland Browns in Week 5. There has been some speculation regarding head coach John Harbaugh's game plan on offense.

Baltimore seemed to have favored a pass-heavy approach versus Cleveland despite the score remaining relatively close throughout the contest. According to Todd Karpovich of the Associated Press, Harbaugh dispelled any notion of adamantly maintaining a balance on offense:

“That’s not a topic for us,” he said. “You do whatever you can do to move the ball and score points. We’ve been doing a pretty good job of that until this last game. We just need to put more points on the board. Nine points, it’s tough to win games that way. That’s the bottom line. This run-pass balance thing, I don’t understand why it’s even a topic.”

Needless to say, the approach did not work this time around. Quarterback Joe Flacco completed just 29 of 56 passes for 298 yards. He also tossed an interception in the red zone which later proved to be quite costly. His performance was indicative of the offense as a whole after mustering up just nine points.

Their red zone struggles came as a bit of a surprise given their historic start to the year. However, they managed to get locked up by a Browns defense that has been largely mediocre thus far this season. Despite their disappointing outing, Harbaugh does not seem to be too concerned with the play-calling. The offense will need to find a way to get back in the win column after surrendering the top spot in the AFC North.
