Patrick Queen is expected to make an immediate impact for the Baltimore Ravens after being taken with the No. 28 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. John Harbaugh, the head coach of the Ravens, laid out his expectations for Queen in Baltimore's defense.

“I think Patrick Queen will probably play at (middle linebacker) for the most part, right there in the middle,” Harbaugh said, via The Athletic's Jeff Zrebiec. “Let him use his speed and instincts to run around and make plays in all three phases, be a three-down guy both in our base package and our sub package.”

Prior to joining the Ravens, Queen wasn't a full-time starter during his time at LSU. As a matter of fact, the athletic linebacker started in only 16 games over the course of his three collegiate seasons. Furthermore, he didn't become a starter last season until the latter part of the year.

Nevertheless, due to his ability to work sideline-to-sideline, Queen became a coveted prospect in the 2020 NFL Draft. Besides Queen, the Ravens could choose to insert Malik Harrison into the starting defense. Harrison was selected in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft by Baltimore.

“Those two guys will kind of be roaming in there at those two linebacker spots, both base and sub, and we’ll just see how much playing time they earn,” Harbaugh said. “We expect them to play a lot of football this year. We’re really fired up about those two guys.”

Over the years, the Ravens have been known to have a stalwart or two at inside linebacker. Even though they are rookies, Queen and Harrison will be thrust into crucial roles in Baltimore's defense next season.
