Lamar Jackson needs money. Or at least this is the exact message he's sending when he decided to post an image containing these exact words (except that “money” was replaced with a $ sign) on his social pages. Unsurprisingly, it sent the NFL world into a bit of a frenzy as rumors started blowing up about Jackson potentially sending a subliminal message toward the Baltimore Ravens.

For his part, however, Lamar Jackson has made it abundantly clear that his recent Twitter and Instagram activity had nothing to do with the Ravens. This is despite the fact that Baltimore has been engaged in contract negotiations with the two-time Pro Bowl quarterback for quite some time now:

“I don’t know why people are blowing it up,” Jackson told Safid Deen of USA Today. “I just saw Bleacher Report post it. They just take anything that’s posted on social media and just blow it up, and try to think for you. I don’t take it too seriously. … They’re making it seem like I’m talking to the Ravens when I’m not. Our contract discussion is going on already. But it ain’t about that though. I’m not putting my business life on social media. I won’t ever do that. I won’t put my personal life on social media. I’ll show stuff, but I won’t throw subliminal [messages] out. That’s not me.”

Jackson claims that the photo was completely innocent and that it was in no way a subtle shot at the Ravens over their extended contract negotiations. Then again, it's truly quite a coincidence, don't you think?
