Baltimore Ravens Lamar Jackson isn't listening to any of the speculation that Jeremy Fowler of ESPN floated around.

Fowler said that people around the league have told him: “This might be the year that everybody figures out Lamar Jackson.” The Ravens dynamic quarterback isn't buying it.

Via ESPN, Jackson kept it short and sweet in responding to the claim on Tuesday.

“We're going to see,” Jackson said. “But I doubt it, though. I strongly doubt it.”

While Jackson's style of play at the quarterback is vastly different from most others in the league, it has been really successful for the Ravens.

Baltimore's offensive scheme features a lot of running and option plays for Jackson, who uses his legs as well as he uses his arm. The nature of it being different from what is typically seen at quarterback might lead others in the league to believe they have “figured out” how to slow down Jackson. Putting those ideas on paper and translating it to the field is a whole different ordeal.

When the Ravens drafted Jackson there were questions about how well he could play the quarterback position. He has answered that bell by doing plenty of winning in Baltimore and securing an MVP award as well (2019).

The likely outcome here is that one or two teams believe they have a scheme that can neutralize Jackson and force him to throw the ball a lot more than he's used to. If that's the case, the Ravens quarterback might just have to show off that arm and prove to the doubters that he can sling the pill as well.
