The Baltimore Ravens and Lamar Jackson squared off with the Cleveland Browns in a Week 1 matchup between AFC North divisional rivals.

Baltimore kept its momentum going from last season. After a 14-2 regular season in 2019, the Ravens started this year with a 38-6 victory.

Unsurprisingly, the 2019 unanimous MVP Lamar Jackson had a big game. The quarterback finished 20-for-25 for 275 yards and three touchdowns (no interceptions). He also had 45 yards on the ground using just seven carries.

Of course, that kind of performance is bound to get you some praise. Lamar Jackson received exactly that from his head coach. According to Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com, John Harbaugh had some very high praise for his young superstar quarterback.

““Lamar played outstanding,” coach John Harbaugh told PFT by phone after the 38-6 win. “He was the difference. He got our offense going.”

“He played almost as well as he could,” Harbaugh said.”

Some might take this as an insult. Saying Lamar Jackson played “almost as well as he could” almost makes it sound like saying you don't think he could do much more than that.

That is not necessarily a bad thing, especially when you have the game Lamar Jackson had on Sunday. However, this is Jackson – the 2019 unanimous MVP.

There is no reason to cap him. He is going to have a ton of stellar games in his career, so don't put anything past him.

Harbaugh was pointing to the fact that Lamar Jackson made basically no mistakes and had barely any incompletions. He threw for a good amount of yards and managed three touchdowns in a blowout win.

Baltimore is definitely in line for an exciting year. Harbaugh is already more than happy with Lamar Jackson.
