Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson put the league on notice with his MVP campaign last year. Regardless, it appears running back Mark Ingram decided to heed another warning ahead of the 2020 NFL season.

According to ESPN's Jamison Hensley, Ingram claims Jackson has taken tremendous strides this offseason:

“He’s a million times ahead of where he was last year.”

Although Ingram has never been shy about hyping up the talents of his teammate, there is certainly good reason to believe him considering the significant jump Lamar Jackson made in Year 2. After all, he led a historic rushing attack during the 2019 campaign that saw the Ravens beat nearly every notable playoff contender en route to MVP honors.

While they may have fallen vastly short of expectations with another brief playoff appearance, it became evident that the efforts of John Harbaugh's coaching staff to fine-tune the offense around Jackson's rare skillset had paid huge dividends. Harbaugh has made it clear that while they plan to continue utilizing his running ability, the Ravens are hoping for more big plays from his arm this time around.

Being able to keep the defense on their toes is exactly what Lamar Jackson does thanks to the explosive element he brings under center. Of course, the constant innovation to the offense is imperative in making sure that their approach does not become one-dimensional in the event that opposing defenses are able to find their footing.

Ingram's comments indicate that he has seen plenty of evidence in training camp of them making it come to fruition.
