The Baltimore Ravens led the best rushing attack in the league during the 2019 NFL season thanks to the efforts of running back Mark Ingram. Regardless, this will not prevent them from shoring up as many weapons as possible this offseason.

Ingram got to witness first hand some of the talent at his position coming up in the 2020 NFL Draft while in attendance at the combine. According to Ryan Mink of the team's official website, he welcomes the prospect of the Ravens bringing in another option:

“Can't be afraid of competition. It breeds excellence.”

Ingram's “iron sharpens iron” approach are indicative of the mindset that he helped bring to Baltimore as a free agent last offseason. It clearly helped to pay huge dividends after dominating the regular season with their formidable 1-2 punch of him and Jackson.

Ingram clearly still has plenty left in the tank finishing the 2019 campaign with 1,018 rushing yards and ten touchdowns while tacking on 26 receptions for 247 receiving yards and five touchdowns. The 30-year-old certainly is not scared of the team bringing in a rookie to potentially cut into his workload.

Although Ingram's experience and leadership make him a stabilizing factor on offense, it would not be too far-fetched for the Ravens to do their due diligence on a potential complementary option in this year's draft. Securing a potential successor to serve as a change-of-pace back in the 2020 NFL season would only add another dynamic to this explosive offense. It would also provide Ingram with further motivation to kick things up a notch in the offseason.
